copier-modern-python is a Copier template for modern Python projects. It asks you a few questions and generates a project with its tooling already configured.

The questions cover your package manager (PDM or uv), your Git provider, the license, the Python versions you support, and the project layout: a library, a command line tool, machine learning, data engineering or a service. You can also add a Dockerfile, and choose a spec-driven workflow with OpenSpec, Spec Kit or neither.

Nox runs the tasks, including tests across Python versions, formatting, checks and building the docs.

Copier also remembers your answers, so copier update applies later template changes while keeping your own settings.
